Volvo and I!
Although i’m not a car fanatic, there’s one engine sound i cannot not know. The sound of a volvo car! It is like a silent tiger stalking on its prey… haha! Mama and papa taught baby brotha how to pronounce it. Like this “wow wow”.
I feel extremely safe and warm when i see fathers driving volvos when they pick their kids up from school or just driving around the neighborhood in the evening. They remind me of my papa and his volvo buddies. With char and i inside jumping from the front seat to the back. Papa used to teach us driving when we were 5-6 years old. We would sit on his lap and fiddle with the steering wheel.
Papa have been driving volvo for many years because it’s a company’s car! And big companies like using volvos because it is reliable! So i grew up in a volvo. Puked in it. Slept in it. Ate in it. And even pee in it. With plastic bags during long hours of traffic jam.
So my relationship with volvos are inquestionable! They are family! You understand? And the funny thing is, everytime i see a dad driving a volvo, the dad look very calm and collected, like a very responsible father. I feel so happy, so familiar. The car gives me a sense of security. because it is hardy and not too prominent, therefore the feeling of protection!
Papa had drove 3 volvo cars. As one by one left, it was saddening. I can still remember one of the car had this stick man drawing on the ceiling. and super glue left at the side door. so its still there i guess. and stickers everywhere. Just like a nursery.
